What Would Happen if the World Was Full of Love?

Selfishness. What a sad truth to the world that we live in. Everyday, everywhere, people are caring about themselves and no one else. The world isn't full of selfishness, in fact there are a lot of people that love each other as much as themselves. But everyone has a little. Selfishness is when you care about yourself, and no one else. You never do anything for anyone else. You only do things for you. Blame is part of selfishness. Blame is when someone cares about themselves so much, that they tell a lie so that others take the punishment. Why is this world so cruel? What would it be like if people loved others as much as they love themselves? How can we stop selfishness from getting the best of us?
I feel like technology has a lot to do with why people are selfish. Before technology, everybody had to help everybody, everybody knew everybody, and everybody cared about everybody. Now, with more technology, people are becoming less social. People hole up inside their rooms on electronics. When they stop interacting with others, they stop caring about others. Themselves is their new world. That person sees only themselves and their family each day. They only care about themselves and their family. Everybody else becomes irrelevant.  Once they become anti-social, friends stop being important to them. They stop caring. They don't care about others. Just themselves.
If people loved each other as much as they love themselves, the world would be a better place. There would be no wars, or conflict of any kind. Everyone would care about everyones' opinion. People would soften up instead of being uptight and stiff. Everyone could relax. No one would have to worry about anything from war, to girl drama. So much could be accomplished instead of wasting away your lives. When I get older, I have no doubt that I will regret spending days on my electronics, so I'm trying to take it down to a small amount each day. The world would be happier if everyone cared and no one was neglected.
We can stop selfishness from getting the best of us through a few easy steps. Even the simplest things can make a difference. Spending less time of devices and being more social would definitely help in my eyes. When you spend time with other people, you start to care about them more, and you start to care about yourself less. We can also do service often. Service gives you a tiny taste of what It's like to stop being selfish. It makes us feel good about ourselves, knowing that we helped that person. Lastly, be kind to everyone. Even if you don't like them that much, you will come to like them sooner or later. Pretending develops real feelings. We can stop ourselves from being selfish easily. Once we stop, others will want to stop too.
In conclusion, selfishness always has been and always will be a bad thing. The more selfish we are, the less people like us. Everyone needs friends to lift them up and help them. If you're selfish you can lose that.  The world could be brighter and happier if everyone cared about something besides themselves. It's easy to stop being selfish. Once you stop, I can guarantee that you will have more fun later.

Love Yourself

Sometimes we are mean to others and don’t think twice about it, but when others are mean to us our whole world falls apart. We often care too much about ourselves and don't recognize that the people around us have feelings too. If the world loved the people around them as much as they love themselves, everyone’s world would drastically change.
In a world like this things in the home and in the world would become 10x better. Brothers and sisters wouldn’t fight, and children would always respect their parents. There would also be no world wars and no content between counties. Overall in a world where everyone loved others as much as themselves everyone would be very happy. (:

I'm Going To Sleep Earlier

In 2016, I am making it my goal to stop going to bed in the early hours of the morning. You see, my sleeping pattern is treacherous. Although I may not feel tired, but to be honest I probably don’t know what being wide-awake feels like, I know that I need more sleep. This habit began during the summer before 6th grade. I was staying up late watching tv or being on my iPod. As the school year approached, I was still going to bed late. And so, the horrible habit continued all throughout 6th grade. During the summer, it worsened. That brings us to the present, where the earliest I ever go to bed is 10:30. The latest time? Well, I would rather not say. As you can see, I don’t have my life together and would like to. So this year, I am going to bed earlier.

February: Loving Everyone! By: Emily Robins!

What if everyone in the world loved people around them as much as they loved themselves? We would have a very different world if that is how it would be. We wouldn't have bullying issues, and we wouldn't have mean comments on social media. It would be a different world to live in because everyone would be kind to each other. If you're siblings fight now, they wouldn't if everyone loved each other. Families would be happy together, and everyone would get along. There would be perfect harmony through out the whole family. There wouldn't be any family drama in extended family, and even in your neighborhood, everyone would care about everyone else. In your communities, everyone would love to help out in community projects to serve others. Having a world where everyone loved people around them as much as they loved themselves would be perfect!

How Life Would Change if we Loved Others More

Everything would be different if people loved others more just thinking about it makes me happier. People would be nice, there would be no wars, or struggles, not even the bicker en of brothers and sisters. Even people would change the brain would actually have to work less because you wouldn't have as many emotions to think about. There wouldn't be any money and everything was free or at least a very low price if there was money. There would be less work because nice people would give out more jobs to others even if they were unqualified. So as you can see this would make everything easier just this one simple thing could change the world.

FEBRUARY POST: DUE FEBRUARY 26TH

Yes, February is all about love, but our blog post will go about it in a different way this month. Here is your writing prompt--please keep your responses to 1-2 paragraphs and answer both questions. Enjoy and thanks!

Imagine a world where everyone loved other people as much as they loved themselves. What would it be like to live in such a world? How would families and communities be changed?

My Un-Resolution

This year, my un-resolution is to stop being mean to my brother. We are always fighting and arguing, and I want to stop that. We are always getting yelled at, and that isn't fun, either. (Plus, he is really good at punching and kicking!) All in all, I should really be nice to my brother Kaleb.
