It's All A Game To Me
Imagine a bottle of molasses, pouring out of a bottle with a small hole. At first, the liquid is coming out very slowly. Then, the liquid comes out like a flood. That's how my reading experience came. I've never been to much of a writer though. When I was a young boy, my older brothers were forced to read. Me, being the youngest, I wanted to out-do them. So, in the second grade I told my mom to by me a cool book series. Not too long later, she brought home Michael Vey. In the second grade I finished it in a week, really just to out-perform my brothers. It turns out I really liked this book series. So I told my mom to buy the rest of the series. Then, I read Fable Heaven, Beyonders, and this last summer I read the I am Number Four series and Five Kingdoms.

ReplyDeleteI think that it is really cool that you wanted to out-read your brothers and that you finished Michael Vey in a week! Fable Haven and the I am Number Four series are really good.
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool I would always race my brother to see who could read a book faster once I got so into it I read a whole book in one day! I also love fable haven
ReplyDeleteI like the metaphor at the beginning, it adds a lot of character to your story.
ReplyDeleteThe first metaphor was amazing. This drew an amazing picture in my head. I can smell the molasses. Great post! keep it up
ReplyDeleteNice metaphor! I hear you on the love of reading over writing. I consider myself a writer as well, but I read a whole lot more. Your intense love of reading will lead to a lot of skill as a writer: I'm excited to see it happen this year! Happy to have you in class:)
