The Journey of Reading and Writing

Imagine that you are on a beach, and you are just basking and relaxing then you feel a slight tremor underneath you. You dismiss it as your imagination only to hear cries of alarm and people hurrying away from the water. Confused you slightly open one eye. only to see a wall of water descending upon you. Frantically you jump to your feet only to be slammed by the water and carried high above the tree tops and most of the buildings! Now you can open your eyes. This is how reading and writing caught me. I was totally blindsided by the severe awesomeness that I felt when I was on the envisaged journey that I felt when I read the first book that swept me away. I remember some books that I didn't like, but I kept going until I got knocked off my feet by that fabricated wave. That was pretty early though, and I kept on reading sometimes with my mom or grandpa or whoever would read me a bed time story. I think that was one of the biggest reasons that got me going. Once I got in the habit of pushing through the sometimes boring parts of a book, I began to get carried away with reading. It took a little bit longer with writing because I didn't know enough to position my mind toward something that I enjoyed and I hoped others would too.  I have found books that I enjoy by the way it was written, the way that the author looked at things, the intensity, and recommendation level. I actually found that that worked (most of the time.) Some of those books this summer have been "Artemis Fowl 1-8" , and "Peter and the Star-catchers 1-4" So with Mrs. Robins as my teacher, I am pretty convinced this is going to be a AWESOME year.

P.S. I highly recommend those books. I enjoyed them.

  2. I liked how you compared the book that swept you away with a wave. It was an awesome comparison. You could make it even better if you explained a little bit more about the books that you read so everyone can get a better idea about what the books' genres are. Keep up the great work!
