Thanksgiving Best Food

Thanksgiving Best Food

Thanksgiving meal, your favorite food is waiting for you at the table, what would that food be? There are many different classic thanksgiving foods, which one is the best? Turkey has always been the most classic thanksgiving food. It is most likely the main dish? According to A Website about the First Thanksgiving Meal, “While no records exist of the exact bill of fare, the Pilgrim chronicler Edward Winslow noted in his journal that the colony’s governor, William Bradford, sent four men on a “fowling” mission in preparation for the three-day event. Wild—but not domestic—turkey was indeed plentiful in the region and a common food source for both English settlers and Native Americans.” This certain quote goes to show that turkey was most likely in the first thanksgiving meal. Men were even sent on a mission to collect wild turkeys. Turkey was one of the main food sources for both the English settlers and the Native Americans. Therefore, turkey is the best food dish for Thanksgiving.

  1. I like how you gave examples of how turkey has been eaten on Thanksgiving since the beginning. What would it look like if you capitalized the word Thanksgiving when you say "In the first thanksgiving meal."?
